Love the product. Need to exchange it for a horizontal version.

The diagrams in the instruction manual were of The larger beds and were not easy for the single bed assembly
However, when my 14 year old grandson and 12 year old granddaughter decided sharing the same pullout bed(the lower bed pulls out to make a king size bed) in their 8’x9’ bedroom was no longer to their liking- enter the sky bunk.

Great quick service, detailed instructions and very efficient. Perhaps a little bit overpriced.

This is the second kit I have purchased. The first one is completed and installed at my camp. Looks great and I love it. Had a great time building it. I haven’t finished the twin project yet. This one will be going to camp also. It will give me some more sleeping area when friends come up for a little fishing and hunting. When folded up it gives me room in the camp as it’s not a huge place. Perfect project for my needs.

My order was received quickly. The plans were great. I made 2 twins for our office and added a drop down desk to each of them. They came out great.

UPDATE – as of 11/16 @ 10am’ish, we heard from a neighbor that the package was delivered to them (wrong address) and was left without a required signature (as indicated on the tracking). FedEx lied and said on their documentation that I, TMICHEL, signed for it – when no one signed for it and it was left at the wrong address. No issues with the product – just the delivery service. You might consider looking into other delivery options.
At this point in time 11/14 @ 9:18pm, I am very disappointed with delivery, since I received an email from FedEx saying that it was delivered and “signed for” but it did not arrive yet and I certainly did not sign for anything yet. I would love to rate it a 5 but I would like to actually see it first.

This kit is really well designed and the instructions were quite easy to follow, even for a relatively new woodworker (who borrowed a lot of tools from their neighbour). For the single horizontal layout, they’ve given a lot of thought to not just the cuts you need to make, but also the way the wood is used and order it is cut in. If you follow the sheet you’ll even have a large enough piece left over to build a top for the bed, or small side shelves with what’s left.
I used mahogany veneered plywood and added a white stain which gave it a lovely rose-colored finish, complemented by copper hardware.
There are a few things that I would recommend would make this kit complete.
The kit would benefit from having hardware that comes in either black or white. I spray painted much of my hardware and we’ll see how well it holds up, but it would be a great option to have from the factory. As all the beds use the same hardware, this shouldn’t add too many SKUs and it would be a great differentiator from other company’s kits which only have black available.
Two small clear rubber stoppers for the legs where they hit the frame. This will provide protection over time. You can go out and purchase these, but having these included in the kit would make it feel more complete. I happened to have a few perfectly sized units lying around from an Ikea cabinet that I wasn’t using (see image).
As for the instructions, make the ¼” plywood cutting diagram look more distinct from the other ¾” pieces. It was my own fault, but I accidentally cut one of the ¾” pieces to the ¼” size. I was able to recover after a few modifications to the cut sheet as there was enough wood left over.
These aren’t criticisms, the kit is really well put together and I LOVE the way that the stopper is part of the cabinet instead of requiring stoppers to be installed.
For the woodworkers, if you want a simple modification, set a saw to ⅛” depth and cut grooves in the panels. It will break up the monolithic face and is a easy-to-do effect. Also you probably don’t need the screw on the front of the bed under the legs hardware. It’s not a structural piece and the glue should be sufficient. One less visible screw!
